Pod Promo now transcribes your episodes and writes the words around them — show notes, titles, keywords, social posts, chapters. It runs on your OpenRouter API key.
That last part is the whole design.
The usual deal, and why we skipped it
Everywhere else, podcast AI arrives as a tier. $10 a month for a transcription allowance. Credits that expire. Per-minute rates with a comfortable margin baked in, on top of the hosting you already pay for.
We don’t touch inference at all. You paste in an OpenRouter key, you pay OpenRouter directly, and we take nothing in the middle. A 60-minute episode transcribes for about 9¢. Show notes and five title options on top of that: well under a cent.
A weekly hour-long show costs roughly 40¢ a month to run through all of it.
Bringing your own key also means you pick the model. Our recommendations are just recommendations — the writing-model field takes any ID from OpenRouter’s catalogue of hundreds, and switching is a text edit, not a support ticket.
What it does
Transcription comes first, because everything else reads from it. Upload audio, hit Transcribe this episode, and you get a timestamped transcript in a few minutes — you can close the tab, it keeps going. Already have a transcript? Paste it in for free and skip the step.
From there, one tab:
- Show notes — a summary and the takeaways, in your voice
- Title ideas — five under 70 characters, one click to apply
- Keywords & tags — for your episode page and the directories
- Social posts — X, LinkedIn, Instagram, each with a copy button
- Chapters — real timestamps from the transcript, publishable as
<podcast:chapters>in your feed
It sounds like your show
Two settings do the heavy lifting.
The Voice Profile is a short description of how you actually write — cadence, openings, the phrases you lean on. Generate it from your own back catalogue, or write it yourself. Every generation gets it, so show notes come back sounding like you rather than like a press release.
The Brand Glossary is the list of names Whisper always gets wrong: your show, your co-host, your product. We fix them in the transcript after the fact — without moving a single timestamp — and every generator spells them your way.
Nothing ships until you say so
Generating writes a draft. That’s it.
Your title stays your title until you click Use this title. Your episode description doesn’t change until you click Use as episode description. Chapters aren’t in your feed until you click Publish chapters. Even the transcript itself is off by default — machine transcripts have a bad habit of mangling names, and Apple Podcasts is not where you want to discover that.
Every one of those buttons asks first when it’s about to overwrite something you wrote.
Your key, encrypted, server-side
It’s encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it’s stored, kept in a record no browser can read — including yours — and decrypted only on our server at the moment of an API call. It never reaches your browser, never lands in a log, never rides along in a background job. Remove it from Settings any time; your model preferences stay.
Getting started
Three minutes: create an OpenRouter account, add $5 in credits, make a key, paste it into Settings → AI Features. Then open any episode and click Content.
