Distribute your podcast everywhere
The full journey from "my show is on Pod Promo" to "listed on Apple, Spotify, YouTube, and every other app."
Last updated
You publish your podcast in one place: Pod Promo. Listeners find it in many places: Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, and dozens of other apps.
This page explains how that works, and walks you through getting listed everywhere.
How podcast distribution works
Here is the one idea that makes everything else make sense:
- Pod Promo gives your show an RSS feed — a special web address that lists your episodes.
- You hand that address to each directory (Apple, Spotify, and so on) once.
- From then on, they check your feed on their own. Every new episode shows up automatically.
You never re-upload anything. Publish an episode here, and it appears everywhere.
You only submit to each directory one time, ever. After that, it is fully automatic.
Before you submit
Run through this checklist first. It takes five minutes and prevents most rejections.
- At least one published episode. Directories reject empty feeds. A short trailer episode counts.
- Cover art uploaded. Square JPG or PNG, at least 1400×1400 pixels. See cover art requirements.
- Show settings filled in. Open your show, choose Edit, and make sure you have:
- A title and description
- An author name
- A category (and language, if your show is not in English)
- The explicit setting answered honestly — directories enforce this
- Owner email set. In your show’s Edit page, under Advanced Settings, fill in Owner Email. Spotify, YouTube, Amazon, and iHeartRadio all confirm you own the show by emailing a code to this address.
The owner email is publicly visible in your RSS feed — that is how directories find it. Use an address you are comfortable sharing, or clear the field after your show is verified everywhere.
Find your RSS feed URL
Your feed URL looks like this:
https://podpromo.ai/your-show-slug/feed.xml The easiest way to grab it:
- Open your show in the dashboard
- Go to RSS & distribution
- Click Copy RSS URL
That page also has direct links to every directory’s submission form.
Never change your show slug after submitting to directories. A new slug means a new feed URL, and directories treat that as a brand-new show. Your subscribers stay behind on the old one.
Where to submit (and in what order)
Start with Apple and Spotify. Together they cover the large majority of podcast listening.
| Directory | How long it takes | Guide |
|---|---|---|
| Apple Podcasts | 1–5 days for review | Submit to Apple Podcasts |
| Spotify | Minutes to a few hours | Submit to Spotify |
| YouTube | A few hours to 2 days | Submit to YouTube |
| Amazon Music, iHeartRadio, Pocket Casts, Podchaser | Hours to a few days each | Submit to other directories |
Good news about the smaller apps: many podcast players (Overcast, Castro, and others) pull their catalog straight from Apple’s directory. Once you are on Apple Podcasts, you are automatically searchable in those apps too — no extra submissions needed.
What to expect after submitting
- Approval is not instant everywhere. Spotify is fast. Apple can take a few days. That is normal — waiting does not mean something is wrong.
- New episodes take a little time to appear. After you publish, apps typically show the episode within a few hours, and always within about 24 hours.
- You will get emails. Most directories email you when your show is approved, and some email you a verification code during submission. Check spam if anything seems missing.
Common questions
Do I have to submit to all of them? No. Apple and Spotify are the two that matter most. Add the rest whenever you like — your feed does not change.
I submitted days ago and I am still “pending.” Is something broken? Almost certainly not. Apple in particular can sit in review for up to a week. If it goes past that, reply to their status email or re-check your feed for missing fields.
Will my old episodes show up too? Yes. Directories read your whole feed, so every published episode comes along.
