Scheduling episodes
How automatic publishing works, and how precise the timing actually is.

Instead of publishing an episode immediately, you can set a date and time and let it go out on its own.
How to schedule
On the episode editor, choose a future publish date and time instead of Publish now. The episode’s status becomes scheduled.
Scheduled episodes:
- Do not appear in your RSS feed
- Do not appear on your public show page
- Are fully visible to you in the dashboard
Timing precision
A background job checks for due episodes every 15 minutes. An episode scheduled for 9:00 a.m. publishes between 9:00 and 9:15.
Podcast apps poll feeds on their own schedule — typically every 15 to 60 minutes. Publishing exactly on the hour buys you nothing, so do not over-engineer the timing.
Changing or cancelling
Reopen the episode any time before it publishes:
- Change the time — pick a new date; it stays
scheduled - Publish early — choose Publish now
- Cancel — switch back to
draft; it stays out of your feed indefinitely
A cadence that works
Consistency matters more than frequency. A useful pattern:
- Record two or three episodes in one session
- Schedule them a week apart
- Record the next batch before the queue empties
This keeps a steady publishing rhythm through weeks when recording is impossible.
Once an episode publishes, it is in listeners’ apps within the hour. Scheduling gives you a window to catch mistakes — publishing does not.
