Submit to other directories

Quick submission guides for Amazon Music, iHeartRadio, Pocket Casts, and Podchaser.

Once you are on Apple Podcasts and Spotify, the heavy lifting is done. These smaller directories each take just a few minutes, and every one is another place listeners can find you.

For all of them, you need the same thing: your RSS feed URL, copied from RSS & distribution in your dashboard. Amazon and iHeart also email a verification code to your show’s Owner Email (set it on your show’s Edit page, under Advanced Settings).

Amazon Music

Covers Amazon Music and Audible listeners, plus Alexa devices (“Alexa, play my podcast”).

  1. Go to Amazon Music for Podcasters
  2. Sign in with any Amazon account
  3. Choose Add or claim your podcast and paste your feed URL
  4. Verify ownership with the code Amazon emails you, and accept the terms

Shows usually go live within a couple of days.

iHeartRadio

One of the largest radio apps in the US.

  1. Go to iHeart’s podcast submission page
  2. Create or sign in to an iHeart account
  3. Paste your feed URL, verify it, and accept the terms
  4. Confirm ownership from the email they send you

Expect a few days before the show appears.

iHeart currently accepts submissions from creators in the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand.

Pocket Casts

A favorite app among dedicated podcast listeners. This one is the easiest of all:

  1. Go to pocketcasts.com/submit
  2. Paste your feed URL and submit

No account needed. Your show is usually searchable within a day.

Podchaser

Podchaser is the “IMDb of podcasts” — a database of shows, episodes, and creator credits. Your show is probably already listed there, because Podchaser indexes Apple’s directory automatically.

Instead of submitting, you claim it:

  1. Create a free account at Podchaser
  2. Search for your show and claim it as the creator

Claiming lets you edit your listing, respond to reviews, and add credits.

What about all the other apps?

Overcast, Castro, Castbox, and most other podcast players do not take submissions at all. They pull their catalogs from Apple Podcasts and public podcast indexes.

Translation: once you are on Apple, you are already in those apps. Search for your show in any of them a day or two after Apple approves you.
