Submit to Spotify

Spotify is the second-biggest place people listen to podcasts — and the fastest major directory to get into. Most shows are live within minutes to a few hours.

What you need

• A free Spotify account (a regular listening account is fine)
• Your show’s RSS feed URL — copy it from RSS & distribution in your dashboard
• At least one published episode (see the pre-submit checklist)
• Your Owner Email filled in — on your show’s Edit page, under Advanced Settings. Spotify sends its verification code to this address.

Step-by-step

1. Go to Spotify for Creators and log in.
2. Choose to add your podcast, then pick the option for a show hosted elsewhere.
3. Paste your RSS feed URL.
4. Spotify confirms you own the show by emailing a short verification code to your show’s Owner Email. Check that inbox (and spam), then enter the code.
5. Confirm your show details — category, language, country — and submit.

After you’re listed

• New episodes appear automatically — usually within a few hours of publishing.
• Your Spotify for Creators account doubles as a stats dashboard, with follower counts and Spotify-specific listening data.
• Spotify may have already found your show on its own (it also crawls Apple’s directory). If so, use the same site to claim it instead of adding it fresh — the steps are nearly identical.

Troubleshooting

• No verification email? Check spam first. Then confirm your show’s Owner Email is set (Edit → Advanced Settings) and that you can receive mail there, and request a new code. Addresses on custom domains sometimes miss these emails — a Gmail or Outlook address works reliably.
• Spotify says the feed is invalid. Open your feed URL in a browser to confirm it loads, and check that your show has a published episode and cover art.
• Wrong details showing. Spotify displays what is in your feed. Edit your show on Pod Promo and Spotify updates on its next check.
