Moving from any other host
Find and set the feed redirect at any podcast host — including RedCircle, Acast, Megaphone, Castos, and self-hosted feeds.

Host not in our list? That’s fine. Nearly every podcast host offers a feed redirect, and they all do the same thing — this guide shows you how to find it.
Do this after your episodes have finished importing into Pod Promo. Not there yet? Start with the full migration guide.
Before you start
- Finish your import on Pod Promo and check that every episode made it.
- Download your analytics from your old host. Stats don’t transfer between hosts — no host can move them.
- Turn off dynamic ad insertion at your old host before importing, so ads don’t get baked into your audio files permanently.
- Copy your new Pod Promo feed URL. It looks like
https://podpromo.ai/your-show-slug/feed.xml— you’ll find it on your show’s Distribution page.
Step 1: Find the redirect setting
Log in to your old host and look in your show’s settings. The feature has a different name almost everywhere, but it’s always one of these:
- Redirect / Redirect podcast / Redirect feed
- 301 redirect / Permanent redirect
- Move podcast / Migrate / Transfer show
- New feed URL / Feed forwarding
- Sometimes tucked under Advanced, Distribution, or a ⋯ menu next to your show title
Still can’t see it? Search your host’s help site for “301 redirect” — that phrase turns it up faster than the word “migrate,” which usually returns guides for moving in, not out.
Here’s where to look at hosts we get asked about most:
| Host | Where the redirect lives |
|---|---|
| RedCircle | Show → ⋯ menu → Remove Podcast → Redirect Podcast (walkthrough below) |
| Acast | Show settings → Advanced → feed redirect, or ask Acast support to set it |
| Megaphone | Podcast settings → Redirect field |
| Blubrry | Dashboard → Podcast Settings → Destinations / Redirect |
| Castos | Podcast settings → Advanced → Redirect feed |
| Fireside | Podcast settings → Redirect podcast |
| Podomatic / Podetize / Ausha / Zencastr | Show settings → look for Redirect or Migrate; if absent, email support |
| SoundCloud | No redirect setting — see “If your host has no redirect option” below |
| WordPress (PowerPress, Seriously Simple Podcasting) | Plugin feed settings → Feed redirect URL, or a 301 in your server config |
| Self-hosted feed | Add a 301 rule for your feed path in .htaccess, Nginx config, or your CDN |
Setting a redirect is not the same as canceling your plan. They’re separate actions — and you want the redirect live for a while before you cancel anything.
Step 2: Set the redirect
- Open the redirect setting you found in Step 1.
- Paste your Pod Promo feed URL — the whole thing, including
https://and/feed.xml. - Save or confirm.
Some hosts ask you to confirm twice, or make you agree to a warning first. That’s normal — the redirect is permanent from their side.
Example: RedCircle, click by click
RedCircle hides its redirect behind a scary-sounding menu item. Follow it anyway:
- Sign in to RedCircle and select your podcast.
- Turn off RAP (RedCircle’s ad program) and remove any Audio Blocks first, so ads aren’t baked into your files.
- Click the ⋯ menu next to your podcast title.
- Choose Remove Podcast — then pick the Redirect Podcast option. This sets a redirect; it does not delete your show.
- Paste your Pod Promo feed URL into the required field.
- Check the agreement box and click the red Redirect button.
The redirect goes live within a few minutes and stays in place indefinitely — unless you permanently delete the show on RedCircle. Wait at least four weeks before deleting it, and cancel a paid Growth or Pro plan before it renews.
Step 3: Update the big directories by hand
Redirects work, but the largest platforms are worth updating directly. Five minutes, zero doubt:
| Directory | What to do |
|---|---|
| Apple Podcasts | Podcasts Connect → your show → RSS Feed → Edit → paste your new feed URL |
| Spotify | Spotify for Creators → your show → Podcast settings → update the feed URL |
| YouTube Music | YouTube Studio → your show → update the RSS feed URL |
| Amazon Music | Amazon Music for Podcasters → your show → Update RSS feed |
| Everyone else | Nothing — they follow your redirect and Apple’s listing |
Step 4: Verify, then wait
- Check it worked. Paste your old feed URL into a web browser. It should forward you to your Pod Promo feed.
- Keep the old feed live for at least two weeks. Apps check feeds on their own schedules; some take days to notice.
- Then cancel your old hosting plan. Your show page in Pod Promo counts down the days for you.
If your host has no redirect option
A few platforms — SoundCloud among them — never offered one, and you may also be locked out of an old account. You can still move; the directories just have to be updated by hand.
- Update Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube Music, and Amazon Music to your Pod Promo feed (Step 3 above). This is what actually carries most of your audience over.
- Leave the old feed online as long as you can, unchanged. Don’t delete episodes.
- Post a final episode on the old feed telling listeners where to resubscribe, and say the same on your website and social accounts.
- Ask the old host’s support whether they’ll set a redirect for you — several will do it manually even without a self-serve button.
Never delete your old show’s directory listing (the entry in Apple Podcasts or Spotify) and create a new one. That throws away your reviews, ratings, and every follower. Always edit the existing listing’s feed URL instead.
